Whether your difficulties stem from past experiences or from current life events, changes can be hard to make alone and so I offer my assistance in helping you take steps towards creating a brighter future.

PSYCHOTHERAPY . EMDR . TRAINING . NEURODIVERSITY

I am very grateful to have been working or training in the field of mental health since 1994, experiencing a diverse range of rewarding roles in the NHS such as a Counsellor/Psychological Therapist and Mental Health Nurse and since 2013, a ‘High Intensity’ Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and Supervisor. I have also enjoyed being part of the teaching and supervision team on the Post Graduate Diploma in CBT at the University of Exeter and have a keen interest in research, currently also a Doctoral student in Clinical Research. Although drawing on theory to inform my practice is extremely valuable, it is of greatest importance to me to be person-centred in my approach and offer a supportive space that is compassionate, non-judgemental and respectful. I am consistently humbled by individuals who share their lives and difficulties with me, honoured to be able to be a part of their healing journey.

Supported by a broad range of experience and qualifications, I work to high professional standards. I am Accredited both as a therapist and supervisor with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) and am qualified in Eye Movement Desenstization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and a member of EMDR UK. I am fully insured with an enhanced DBS and offer Psychotherapy to help with a whole range of difficulties whether stemming from past events or current situations.

Neuro-affirmative practice, peer support groups and training for therapists

With my own personal experience of neurodivergence, I also welcome clients who are autistic, ADHD or AuDHD. In my NHS role as the Neurodiversity Champion, I lead a team of therapists and, informed by my Doctoral research, have created a course called ‘Navigating Neurodiversity’ to help raise awareness of individual differences and challenges, learn some coping strategies, help build greater self-compassion, whilst connecting with others and reducing a sense of isolation. I also deliver training to therapists in how to individualise therapy for neurodivergent clients and have delivered this to Post Graduate trainees and in the NHS.

Read ‘Therapy’ for more on my approach or  go to ‘Supervision’ if you are a qualified or trainee therapist looking for clinical supervision.

Contact me through the website contact form if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment to chat further.  I’d be very happy to answer any queries.
